COURSE DESCRIPTION

TARGET POPULATION:

Employees who are not members of emergency response teams or fire brigades but who are responsible for directing and assisting employees in the event of an evacuation. Evacuation coordination may include the Incident Commanders, Building Captains, and employees who will assist in evacuating others.

Description:

This course was developed to meet the requirements of the OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard, 29 CFR 1910.120 and Employee Emergency Plans and Fire Prevention Plans, 29 CFR 1910.38. The program is designed to provide evacuation coordinators with the knowledge and skills required to assist employees in evacuating their facility in the event of an emergency. The program covers the roles and responsibilities of Evacuation Coordinators, fixed fire suppression systems, and the issues that must be addressed when setting up evacuation drills. The curriculum consists of material presentations, key point reviews and small group exercises.
